Transforming Public Schools in India So Students Experience Agency

Our Journey

2016

Pilot of Peer Teaching program conducted in Delhi (inspired by the work done with avanti fellows)

2018

Involve gets registered and starts working full time to improve school models. First successful projects run in Chennai, impacting 640 students.

2019

Involve (with the support of Mantra4Change) starts operations in Bangalore, taking our impact to 1390 students.

2020-21

Pandemic-era online programs reach 8900 students around Bangalore and Chennai.

2022

We strengthened our Bangalore presence by gaining block-level permission to work in Anekal, reaching 30 government schools. In parallel, we initiated a partnership with Parivaar in Madhya Pradesh to improve learning outcomes for students in one of India’s most underserved regions.

2023

Involve scales.

Partnering with governments

Involve launches REACH: Reimagining Education for Agency in Children working at the district level in Sambhal and Bhagalpur. The shift: from implementing programs to embedding peer learning inside state systems, training ARPs, BRPs, and teachers at scale.

Our reach extends to 2 lakh+ students~2000 teachers

2024

Widening reach, deepening impact

1 million students. Six states. Rigorous evidence.

Involve crosses 1 million students across Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Assam. A large-scale RCT with Columbia and Harvard researchers launches in Bhagalpur.

2025

The peer teaching program is cited in the Economic Survey 2025.

2030

The goal

Scaling through government partnerships, open-sourced toolkits, and The Agency Collective a national network of organisations designing student-led spaces.
